Ipsy Review May 2016 – Destination Chic

My Ipsy review this month is short and sweet; life has been crazy.

The Mellow Cosmetics Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude has a pleasant chocolate coconut smell, which I hard to try right away. The color being nude was neutral and complimented my skin tone very well. Sadly it did not stand the test of time and after 2 hours it needed to be reapplied, with a yummy smell I did not mind so much but for $13 usd I do not plan to purchase.

The Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask is a lovely face mask that left my skin feeling soft and fresh. The mask has a pleasant smell of strawberries but not sure what yarrow is or smells like. Never heard of the brand before this trial but at a price of $6.99 CDN, I could see myself purchasing it again if I came across it, but would not seek it out as I did not see astonishing results.

The Hikbronzerari Cosmetics Shimmer Bronzer is a lovely colorful pallet. It took a few applications to get adjusted to the color, I did not want to over do it with such rich colors. The pallet is multi-purpose; it is a blush, bronzer, highlighter and eye shadow. With the warm weather, I like to mix up my darker deep brown shadow I usually do on my crease to a pink as it adds color and warmth to my face to match the colorful summer/spring season, this pink will work really well for that. The pallet has a subtle smell but nothing that should be noticeable. For $17 USD this could be a pallet I will need to purchase again because it is so versatile.

The Smashbox X-Rated Mascara right away is a fail, first thing I notice when I pull out the wand is the harsh chemical smell, a quality that concerned me when putting a product so close to my eyes, but I had to try it. The applicator is a triangle shape with little combs which separate lashes really well as opposed to a normal spindle. This mascara gave me the isolated magnified lashes it promised but again the smell concerns me and so at $22USD per tube I will not purchase this product.

Last but not least, this month I received Vera Mona Eye Smudger Brush, bristles are soft and sturdy but the design of the brush is awkward for me to use as a smudger as I prefer a longer fluffier bristle. I will try to repurpose this brush for concealer or wet eyeliner.

If you are interested in finding out more about some of these products I suggest you check out Thu at NYC Beauty Blogger she has done a great Ipsy review this month on the Destination Chic bag with many of the same products.

Till next time friends, Cheers!
